ArmA3 offiziell angekündigt ( Release Q4 / 2012 )

Bohemia Interactive announces the brand new installment in its hugely successful realistic military simulator series
This announcement is the outcome of the recent mind games (the "hacks") BIS has been playing with the community.

Quote :
Prague, Czech Republic 19th May
- Bohemia Interactive, the award-winning independent Czech development studio, is pleased to announce the development of Arma 3, the brand new installment in its series of critically acclaimed realistic military simulators.
Combining over 10 years of experience, building upon the strength of its predecessors, and set in the most detailed environment of the series to date, Arma 3 offers gamers radical engine improvements and a unique sandbox-style military gameplay experience.
The next chapter of this stunning military simulation game is scheduled for release exclusively for PC in Summer 2012.

Survive in the rich & authentic environment
Adapt to the unsurpassed experience of modern ground combat
Win in the open-ended & story-driven campaign

After years of intense warfare against Eastern armies, Europe has become the last stand for the battered NATO forces. On the verge of being driven into the sea, NATO command embarks upon a most desperate measure. In the hope of seizing what seems to be a well-guarded military secret, Operation Magnitude is launched. A small group of Special Forces and Researchers are sent to a Mediterranean island deep behind enemy lines. However, the mission is compromised and the task force destroyed, leaving Cpt. Scott Miller washed ashore upon the hostile island. In his effort to carry out the mission, he will face the dangers of modern warfare, an unforgiving environment, and the consequences of his own decisions...

Bohemia Interactive´s CEO, Marek Spanel, explains: ''We're happy to bring the next generation of the Real Virtuality engine to life. The increased potential of the engine should allow Arma 3 to become our best-looking, most detailed and innovative military simulation game to date.''

Ivan Buchta, Creative Director of Arma 3, adds: ''Our ambition is not only to deliver the next generation of Arma with the improved engine, but also to fully exploit the potential of our new technology in the gameplay. You can look forward to the unique experience of blending sandbox-style combat with a rich story.''

Arma 3 will be featured in private presentations at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) June 7th-9th.

Zitat

Physical Simulation & Improved Animations – Take advantage of PhysX™ supported vehicle simulation, in-game interactions and the revamped animation system.

Bon Skepsis in allen Ehren. Dennoch bleibt uns nichts anderes übrig denn Konkurrenz wird es vermutlich nicht geben. Nur Windelweiche Versuche ala OFP.

The E3 2011 Gamespot LiveCam visitted the Bohemia Interactive stand on the E3 to view Arma 3 in action and get some more background info.
Ivan Buchta made a nice Arma 3 presentation showing some of the new features which will be introduced with Arma 3.
This presentation was streamed live on the E3 2011 LiveCam Tour 1, Day 2 and for those who missed it and wish to jump straight into the presentation PurePassion was so kind to record it and upload it to youtube.

Quote PurePassion :
This is the actual Behind-closed-doors presentation of Arma 3 from BIS at E3 2011.
I really want to thank Ivan and the whole BIS crew for letting us have this amazing peek at Arma 3. I also want to thank the crew from Gamespot for making our dream come true.
And the best for the last: The Arma Community! Thanks to everyone for posting requests and everything, which basically made all this possible.

If you like what you see check out Arma 3's official homepage, the Arma 3 youtube channel and the Arma 3 facebookpage

Discuss this Arma 3 E3 presentation on our forums.
When you choose to view the E3 live stream and skip to 02:10 you will also see the E3 presentation of the much anticipated Carrier Command and the E3 presentation of Take On Helicopters.
Of both presentations a youtube video will become available as well (again thanks to PurePassion) and we will post about those on our forums later.

VIPER[CWW] has been keeping us up to date about an interview with Arma3 Creative Director Ivan Buchta by Briggsil for nordrassilradio.
The interview was aired August 1 from 19:00 to 21:00 CEST and yesterday for those who missed it part I has been released on youtbue.
Part II and part III will be released later as well!

The interview is a little over 15 minutes long and covers these questions:

How much will we notice it being 2025 on Lemnos? Is it just the military stuff or also Civ and misc stuff? Architecture and such.
Will BIS 'invent' some technology in the game or is it ALL based on existing tech?
Will it be better optimized than ARMA2? Or will we need a beast of a computer to make it look like the screens?
Are they going to bring over all of the features from ARMA2, new multiplayer modes?
Updated sound effects?
How do they feel about the the modifications made to ARMA 2 and did they feel compelled to bring any of those ideas to ARMA3.
Will there be a beta for players to test?
In some of the videos of test footage will there be any vehicles for underwater action?

Briggsil informed us on our forums he released part II of the interview with Arma3 Creative Director Ivan Buchta he did for nordrassilradio.
The interview was aired August 1 from 19:00 to 21:00 CEST and for those who missed it part I & part II have been released on youtbue.
Part III will be released later as well!

The interview is a little over 23 minutes long and covers these questions:

Is there only one map available on ArmA3 or will there be 2 like the previous games?
Can you confirm or reveal the exact factions in which will be available to play in ArmA3?
What are they calling the Kamokum? (The helicopter that looks like an Mi-28 with the rotors from a Ka-50)
Will the character animations be the same as ArmA2 or are there any plan's to update them?
Arma 2 and OA had limited (not fully functional) mod integration support; will Arma 3 see improvements in this area, and if so what particular improvements?
Do they plan on being able to take equipment off? because you cant be stealthy wearing flippers raiding the compound. We know about the weapon attachments.
